Emma has been sleeping through the night more consistently so daddy and I decided that last night was THE night to move her from her bassinet, which sits at mommy's bedside into her crib, in her nursery. It was definitely a big step! She went to sleep at 10 pm in her crib for the first time and did not wake up until 5:30 this morning. We think that her sleeping habits are pretty impressive. Now, all we need her to do is sleep in until 10am on the weekends! :)
Emma has also been growing like a weed. Last night after her bath we put her in our favorite pair of her 0-3 month pajamas. It was a momentous occasion because we knew that it would be her last time wearing them. We retired 2 whole piles of her clothes that were getting too small and changed out her onesie drawer from newborn and 0-3 months to 3 months and 3-6 month clothes. It was hard to put a few of her outfits away that we have so many memories in already, but now we will just have to have another daughter so we can see our favorite outfits in action again.
Elliot has been very busy with school, his part time job at Helenske Design Group in Fargo, and job searching. We also have our house up for sale and are hoping to sell it around graduation time for Elliot. We do not know where his graduation will take us, but we are hoping that we can stay in the areas so we can be close to family. It is so nice to have so much family around, especially with Emma here!
Lori has been enjoying her time back at work as she is able to work from home and out of the office with Emma in the mornings, and is at her site in the afternoon. Elliot drops Emma off with Lori at work on Monday and Wednesday afternoons before he goes to class so Emma gets to hang out with mom at the school too!
Lori has also been very busy with her graduate classes. She is currently taking 3 online classes and one field experience practicum in the English Language Learners classroom at Jefferson, the school she runs the before and after school program for. She will receive her ELL Certificate in December of this year. She is also changing her program of study to more administrative type classes as she really enjoys the coordinator role she is playing right now for the YMCA.
Emma has been practicing sitting up in her Boppy and her Exer Saucer. Her learning toys are taking over our house so we can't wait until we can move into somewhere a little larger that has more storage room for all of her accessories.
We have also set a date for Emma's baptism. She will be baptised in Grafton at Grafton Lutheran Church on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the 10:30am service. We were able to have Elliot's cousin Matt and his wife Stacy over for dinner last night and had the pleasure of asking them to be Emma's Godparents! Choosing them was a very tough, but exciting decision for us and we are so thankful for the relationship we have with them. Stacy spends every Monday afternoon with Emma on her day off from school, studying and playing with Emma! Emma recognizes Matt and Stacy's voices and loves the time she gets to spend with them.
